Mother’s Day 2019 in United States
Cute Mother Day Poem
My Mother, my friend so dear,
Throughout my life you’re always near.
A tender smile to guide my way,
You’re the sunshine to light my day.
The hand that rocks the cradle
also makes the house a home.
It is the prayers of the mother
that keeps the family strong.
Mother rises early in the morning
and bathes her day in prayer.
She talks to God about her family
and places them in His care.
Mother communicates her love
in a thousand different ways.
When there’s a need, she is there,
whether it is night or day.
Mother seasons life with love
and gives so much of herself.
God placed in her the best He had
and made her unlike anyone else.
When challenges come our way
and when trials block our view,
Mother kneels down beside her bed
and prays the family through.
Mother is God’s special creation.
She is a light shining in the dark,
illuminating the path for her family
and pointing them toward God.
By Lenora McWhorter
Of all the special joys in life,
The big ones and the small,
A mother’s love and tenderness
Is the greatest of them all.
If I could have just one more day and
wishes did come true,
I’d spend every glorious moment
side by side with you.
Recalling all the years we shared
and memories we made,
how grateful I would be
to have just one more day.
Where the tears I’ve shed are
not in vain and only fall in bliss,
so many things I’d let you know
about the days you’ve missed.
I wouldn’t have to make pretend
you never went away,
how grateful I would be to
have just one more day.
When that day came to a close
and the sun began to set,
a million times I’d let you know
I never will forget.
The heart of gold you left behind
when you entered Heaven’s gate,
how grateful I would be to
have just one more day.

There is no blessing
Quite so dear…
As a mom like you
To love year after year.
You brushed my hair and tucked me in,
Made me laugh for hours on end.
You kissed my boo-boos when I fooled around.
Mommy, you never let me down.
You held my hand as I got my shots
Then took me for ice cream that hit the spot.
You bought me Polly Pockets and Barbies, too.
Mommy, there’s no one quite like you.
You held my hand as I walked through the door,
Then you met my teacher as I stared at the floor.
You told me it’d be fun and I’d make friends too,
And for that reason, Mommy, I love you.
You listened to me talk about the drama and boys
Then taught me how to handle it with class and poise.
You spoke with wisdom and of things you know.
You love to hear me say, “Mommy, you told me so.”
You love the Lord with all you heart,
And you’re kind and gentle and pretty and smart.
If I could be anyone, I’d pick you,
‘Cause, Mommy, the world would be better with two of you.
You’ve taught me so much, with more in store,
And with each day that passes, I love you more.

You’re my mother,
I would have no other!
~ Forest Houtenschil
A mother is special, she’s more than a friend.
Whenever you need her, she’ll give you a hand.
She’ll lead you and guide you in all that you do.
Try all that she can just to see you get through.
Good times and bad times, she’s there for it all.
Say head up, be proud, and always stand tall.
She’ll love you through quarrels and even big fights,
or heart to heart chats on cold lonely nights.
My mother’s the greatest that I’ve ever known,
I think God made my mother like He’d make his own.
A praiser, a helper, an encourager too,
nothing in this world that she wouldn’t do.
To help us succeed she does all that she can,
raised a young boy now into a man.
I want to say thank you for all that you do,
please always know mom, that I love you.
By George W. Zellars
Just one little wish for you, Mom,
But it’s loving and happy and true –
It’s a wish that the nicest and best things
Will always keep coming to you!
Mom I know we’ve been through a lot
But to this day I have not forgot
All the things you have done for me
Opening my eyes and letting me see
All the rights and wrongs in life
And help me battle my everyday strife
To know your love is a great feeling
Thinking of it helps me with dealing
And on this special day
I will always say
That I love you in each and every way
You are the perfect mother for me
And no matter what I want to be
I know you will always be there
To show me that you care
I hope this touches a special place in your heart
Because no matter what I shall never part
I Love You Mom in so many ways
And today is for you mom, your special day.

The heart of a home is a mother
Whose love is warm and true,
And home has always been “sweet home”
With a wonderful mother like you!

Mommy, I love you
More than you see
You have always been there
When I needed you to be
I know I don’t show
How great my love is
But I need you to know
All the love of you I have to give
I wish there was more
For you I could do
But all I can say
Is how much I love you
It is deeper than the oceans
Higher than the sun
I could shout it forever
And still not be done
Your smile is a keepsake
I keep close to my heart
That I open up and treasure
When we are apart
By Gail M. Russellburg
Here’s wishing you a Mother’s Day
That’s filled with every pleasure,
And a future that’s as happy
As the memories you treasure!
Her hands held me gently from the day I took my first breath.
Her hands helped to guide me as I took my first step.
Her hands held me close when the tears would start to fall.
Her hands were quick to show me that she would take care of it all.
Her hands were there to brush my hair, or straighten a wayward bow.
Her hands were often there to comfort the hurts that didn’t always show.
Her hands helped hold the stars in place, and encouraged me to reach.
Her hands would clap and cheer and praise when I captured them at length.
Her hands would also push me, though not down or in harm’s way.
Her hands would punctuate the words, just do what I say.
Her hands sometimes had to discipline, to help bend this young tree.
Her hands would shape and mold me into all she knew I could be.
Her hands are now twisting with age and years of work,
Her hand now needs my gentle touch to rub away the hurt.
Her hands are more beautiful than anything can be.
Her hands are the reason I am me.

I said a Mother’s Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you’ve shown me through the years,
for the closeness we’ve enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you’ve done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!
My mother,
She wakes before me, sleeps after me.
She gets me ready fast and steady.
Sometimes I wonder if she is a robot.
Needs no pay, just our smiles,
Never takes rest, no matter cold or hot.
Never gets tired though she has a pile to do.
If there is a super hero, it’s my mother.
I’m blessed to be blessed by her.
She scolds me and hugs me,
Makes me cry and makes me laugh.
Her touch is softer than fur.
She cares for everyone: me, my brother, and father.
If there is a super hero, it’s my mother.
Mothers can die for their children,
But my mother loves me more than just that.
She is like the sweetest dove,
Sitting on a tree of love.
I am blessed that she is my mother.
If there is a super hero, it’s my mother.
I know we can’t always be together,
But no one can hold us apart.
She is my life,
She is my heart,
She is my mother,
She is my super hero.

Sending this, Mom,
Especially to say
Wishing you a happy
And wonderful day…
And to tell you this day
Will always be one
For remembering the many
Sweet things you have done!
I’m writing you to tell you that I love you
Something I hardly ever do.
I never tell you enough how much I love you
and it’s something I must do.
I need to let you know mother how much
You really mean to me so I’m telling you now
you mean the world to me.
I need to thank you for all you do for me.
Your unconditional love toward me means a
lot to me.
You’ve never turned your back
on me and I know it’s something you’ll
never do.
Anytime I need someone to talk to
You’re always there to help me through
And anytime I need a favor you always seem
To be there, too.
There’s nothing in this
world that I could do to pay you back for
all you do.
When god gave me to you,
That’s the best thing he could ever do,
So this poem is dedicated to you
Because I don’t know how else to say Thank You.
By Herman Vymislicky
Once upon a memory
Someone wiped away a tear
Held me close and loved me,
Thank you, Mother dear.
I was watching you sleep the other day
And prayed that it would last
The peace that rested on your face
I’d never seen in the past
I was watching you speak a while ago
And hoped that you’d go on
The way your words, they had no end
Your Spirit seemed so strong
I was watching you fight the other day
And prayed my tears would dry
All this I knew was done for me
And couldn’t figure out why
I was watching you smile a couple of days ago
And stared in total awe
Was it me who made you shine?
Was that triumph that I saw
And all this time you’ve waited
And all this time you’ve helped
And all the things you sacrificed
For me to grow up well
And all the tears you’ve dried
And all the pain you soothed
And all the truths you have to hide
Without one simple Thank You
But I was watching you today
And I realized that I can’t wait
To tell you how much I appreciate
And love you in every way

Mom’s smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom’s hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom’s love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways…
The values you’ve taught,
the care you’ve given,
and the wonderful love you’ve shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.
I Love you Mom!
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He molded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.
~ Pat O’Reilly
You filled my heart with joy,
And you filled my life with love.
You taught me how to love.
You taught me not to give up,
You taught me words of wisdom,
And attend to my every need.
You filled my world with laughter,
And you brightened up my world.
You’re the best Mom.
You filled my days with rainbow lights,
Fairytales and sweet dream nights,
A kiss to wipe away my tears,
Gingerbread to ease my fears.
You gave the gift of life to me
And then in love, you set me free.
I thank you for your tender care,
For deep warm hugs and being there.
I hope that when you think of me
A part of you
You’ll always see.
Mother’s Love
Her love is like
an island in life’s ocean,
vast and wide
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the wind, the rain, the tide.
‘Tis bound on the north by Hope,
By Patience on the West,
By tender Counsel on the South
And on the East by Rest.
Above it like a beacon light
Shine Faith, and Truth, and Prayer;
And thro’ the changing scenes of life
I find a haven there.
For all the times you gently picked me up,
When I fell down,
For all the times you tied my shoes
And tucked me into bed,
Or needed something
But put me first instead.
For everything we shared,
The dreams, the laughter,
And the tears,
I love you with a “Special Love”
That deepens every year.
While we honor all our mothers
with words of love and praise.
While we tell about their goodness
and their kind and loving ways.
We should also think of Grandma,
she’s a mother too, you see…
For she mothered my dear mother
as my mother mothers me.
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky, Hundreds of shells on the shore together, Hundreds of birds that go singing by, Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather. Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn, Hundreds of bees in the purple clover, Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn, But only one mother the world wide over.
My mom, she’s the best,
From her head to her toes!
She’s warm and she’s soft,
And smells as sweet as a rose.
I just want to let you know
you mean the world to me,
Only a heart as dear as yours
would give so unselfishly.
The many things you’ve done
all the times that you were there,
help me know deep down inside
how much you really care.
Even thought I might not say
I appreciate all you do
richly blessed is how I feel
Having a mother just like you
Mommy, I love you
For all that you do.
I’ll kiss you and hug you
’Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile ’cause I love you
On this Mother’s Day.
~ Nicholas Gordon
When God created mothers,
All as lovely as can be,
He made one extra special,
And saved her just for me!
God took pieces of everything wonderful to make moms.
God took the fragrance of a flower…
The majesty of a tree…
The gentleness of morning dew…
The calm of a quiet sea…
The beauty of the twilight hour…
The soul of a starry night…
The laughter of a rippling brook…
The grace of a bird in flight…
Then God fashioned from these things
A creation like no other,
And when his masterpiece was through
He called it simply – Mother.
By Herbert Farnham
I will try my best in every way,
To be extra sweet on Mother’s day.
But if you become upset with me,
Please relax and have a cup of tea!
